SEAN LESLIE FILMS


Sean Leslie is a writer and director from Vancouver, BC.

He has written and directed two short films—Chosen (2024) and A Safe Space to Talk (2025)—and authored two novels, The World of Flying (2021) and The Sous Chef (2023). He is currently working on new projects in both film and writing.


Short Films

Chosen (2024)

A young man named John (David Dryden) is chosen to leave for an involuntary, undisclosed mission. As he spends his final day in town, he shares a few quiet moments saying goodbye to his friends and family before stepping into the unknown.

A Safe Space to Talk (2025)

Dr. Peter Andrews, a therapist, ends a routine workday when he receives a desperate call from Jared, a troubled client in crisis. What begins as a late-night therapy session quickly spirals into a tense moral dilemma when Jared confesses to using Dr. Andrew’s office as a place to hide.

Novels

The Sous Chef (2023)

Matthew is the sous chef of the renowned French restaurant L'Endroit. Struggling with drug and alcohol addictions, Matthew tries to balance his work and home life, continuously attempting to keep up with the stressful responsibilities of working in a kitchen.

The World of Flying (2021)

With the invention of the flying car, the Model H Barnstormer, land-cruising vehicles have been nearly wiped off the map. The story follows Stan Beverley, the founder and CEO of AirWay, and Oliver Dwyer, a construction worker whose wife and son tragically perished in a Barnstormer crash years ago. While his heart is filled with pain, the world around him is under a global recession and economic collapse, leaving Oliver with no choice but to work for the company he despises so much.
